Work With Us

Many organisations come to Future Stewards at a point where the old ways of working still function, but no longer feel sufficient.

This can show up as growing uncertainty, competing priorities, or a sense that longer-term questions are being crowded out by short-term demands. Often, people are already doing good work and are looking for clearer shared language and stronger collective direction.

We work with organisations, funders and networks to help them think together, work with complexity, and build futures practice that can be used in real decisions — not just discussed.

Our Approach

We work with people, not at them.

Our approach is grounded in working alongside those doing the work. We bring experience and established futures practice to support shared thinking and practical learning, helping people make sense of their current reality and explore what may need to change over time.

Our work is guided by a few core commitments:

Start with the present

more
We work with lived experience, tensions and constraints - not idealised futures.

Build shared language

more
We support teams to develop language they can use across roles and perspectives.

Work with uncertainty

more
We create space to explore what is emerging, unclear or contested.

Build lasting capability

more
We strengthen people’s ability to continue the work themselves.

Ways We Work

We work with people and organisations in different ways, depending on context, ambition and readiness. These are not stages or a funnel, they are entry points.

Facilitation

Focused spaces for collective sense-making.

Creates space for clarity, shared understanding and collective direction.

Projects

Time-bound work rooted in live challenges.

Supports learning in action as questions evolve over time.

The Studio

A long-term practice partnership.

Creates a steady rhythm of connection, insight and real-time sense-making.

Who the Studio Is For

The Studio is for purpose-driven businesses, NGOs, public-sector teams and networks who want better ways to make sense of what’s changing, explore new possibilities and act more confidently amid uncertainty.

It’s especially valuable if you want to::

  • Make sense of what’s shifting, and what it means for your work
  • Create space for longer-term thinking
  • Strengthen shared language, alignment and collaboration across teams
  • Explore new ideas and possibilities without needing to be “futures experts”
  • Move from insight to action through practical steps and experiments
  • Build the confidence to act amid uncertainty – not just cope with it
  • Learn with a partner who can meet you where you are, whether you’re new or already experimenting

The Founding Circle

We’re opening the Studio with a small founding circle before membership widens in mid-2026, creating a rare opportunity for early partners to learn together in this first phase. We’re currently welcoming a small number of additional founding partners into this early cohort.

Founding Circle members benefit from:

  • Early access to new practices, tools and learning pathways

  • Closer collaboration with leading practitioners, including Bill Sharpe

  • Connection with peers tackling similar challenges across sectors

  • Influence over the themes and questions the community explores together

  • Visibility as early adopters of a credible, globally recognised approach

Together, the founding partners form a small, cross-sector community learning with and from one another as the Studio begins. It’s a chance to explore emerging practice in good company and help set the tone for the months ahead.

One of our first founding partners is Ambition Loop. In this conversation with Bill Sharpe, Nigel – co-founder of Ambition Loop and Chair of the UK Climate Change Committee – shares why the Studio matters now and why joining early offers a unique opportunity.
